LLansteffan Triangular Tour

Sunday 6th March 2022

Our inaugural car run for 2022 was led by Richard Wilshire and followed the route previously organized by him which we did in March 2020. A total of 14 vehicles met at our usual starting point on a cloudy cool day to undertake the 45 mile route.

Only 2  convertibles braved the cold weather with hoods down including a first run for Paul and Louisa in their MX5 and all were glad of a chance for a warming hot drink at our stop in Llansteffan.

The route to Llansteffan went through Bancyfelin to the Level Crossing where we made a short stop to allow a train to pass  before climbing up towards Llangynog. We followed the minor road south to LLanybri and before long were rewarded with great views over the Towy River estuary as we dropped down towards Llansteffan. After our stop there we headed north east on the B4312 towards Carmarthen. On the outskirts of the town we drove west through the Cillefwr Industrial Estate climbing up the Alltycnap Road to Llangynog eventually re-joining our route from Bancyfelin Level Crossing. At this point we turned to head north east up the B4298 to Meidrim before dropping down back to Whitland and the Rugby Club where we enjoyed our lunch and a catch up with car club friends.
