The regular monthly meeting together with the club’s charity cheque presentation to the ‘Stroke Association’ was held at the Whitland Rugby Club – Social Club on Thursday 28th July 2016.
The meeting was attended by 43 members and guests who enjoyed a very interesting talk by Alan Drury, the Regional Fund-raiser for the ‘Stroke Association.
The ‘Charity Pot’ has accumulated over the past 2 years with the profits from the Club’s annual ‘Carmarthenshire County Run’ which has totalled over £1,700.00p, this was the sum presented by the club to the ‘Stroke Association’ this evening.
A lovely buffet supplied by Sue and Phil of the Rugby Club, followed the cheque presentation, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. Many thanks to you both.
Alan Glencross once again ran the raffle, our thanks to him and members who donated the prizes and contributed to an amazing £80 profit.
Thanks also to Whitland Rugby Club for providing us with such an excellent venue for our meetings.
An evening to be remembered, and which I hope will motivate our club in an effort to raise even more money over the next 2 years for the ‘Macmillan Nurses’, our chosen charity for that period.
