Whitland Classic Motor Club

Whitland Classic Motor Club was formed in August 2008 following a meeting of interest at The Fishers Public House in Whitland. The meeting was well attended with the first outing being held at Whitland Carnival August 2008. The ethos behind the club is to hold as many runs as possible during the year and enjoy our classic vehicles.

Meetings are held at 8.00pm on the last Thursday of every month at the Whitland Rugby Football Club, Social Club, King Edward Street, Whitland. The Club already has over 40 members and covers the Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire area of South West Wales.

Friday evening run to 'The Harp' at Letterston - 8th July 2016.

Hi everyone,

Well  what a lovely run!!!.

16 cars arrived at the Co-op car park in readiness for an evening run of just over 43 miles to a new venue for the majority of us.

Jeff and Dave planned a delightful route travelling through Lampeter Velfrey on to Narberth, cross country to Llawhaden, on to Wiston, through Crundale, Spittal and Puncheston, then through Llanchaer, on to the main Haverfordwet road to 'THE HARP' at Letterston.

The run took about an hour and a half starting with broken cloud above us, but with ever increasing cloud, we made a short stop to enable people with open tops to put their hoods up, which proved to be unnecessary, as we were fortunate to reach our destination with no rain.

On arriving at 'The Harp', we were welcomed by our hosts who had arranged our seating on 2 long tables, which enabled good contact and conversation between all parties.

The menu offered gave us a good choice of meals, which Jeff pre-ordered before we set off from Whitland.

The service was excellent with food being brought to our tables within a very short  time of being seated.

Food quality was excellent, service excellent, very reasonably priced and greatly enjoyed by everyone.

Our thanks once again to Jeff and Dave, the staff at 'The Harp', all of the club members who attended and supported the club on this run; this is certainly a venue to put on our list for visiting again in the near future.

We all look forward to the next run, hopefully before the end of the month!!

PS Don't forget our next meeting on the 28th July when we will be having a buffet and presenting a cheque to 'The Stroke Association'; more details to follow prior to the meeting to determine numbers attending (for caterers).  D.
